3 Iron Movie Review

“Is it right to fall in love at wrong time?”
A 2004 Korean film written and directed by Kim Ki-duk, its silent style breaks anyone’s sleeping mind. Unusual may it sounds, but was delivered creatively. It’s a big challenge for every film maker if the audience will get the idea of what they are watching. But 3Iron has a different twist. The story answered how love story between two real strangers made possible, as they shaped one another’s personality.

It was weird because thinking is a must for the scenes. Not the usual movie with dialogues, it was transformed into something that is also risky for the actors. A good execution of character is a need.

The movie 3Iron shows how people can do anything for their needs and for the name of love. Jae Hee as Tae-suk played the role of a weird guy from unknown origin, who would step from one house to another without the owner’s permission, but he has no bad intention. Along the journey Tae-suk met Sun-hwa played by Lee Seung-yeon as he entered their house without the acknowledgement of the people living in it.

And the love story begins, but the woman is married, what would be the set up? Will she come with Tae-suk or stay with his Psychotic husband who keeps on hurting her. Every situation leaves a question, what would happen next? Is it a dream or a reality?

The set describe some unsaid messages, eventually it builds the character of the casts. From the fixing of appliances, taking of pictures, photos on the wall, something is missing inside the characters. There are unanswered miseries. And messages will be unfold after watching it.

Delivering of the film seems to be comfortable for the director, because he is the one who wrote it. The additions of the movements of the character of Tae-suk spice up the story it is interesting how they portrayed those because of the awesome camera movements which at the same time builds the scene. What everyone person does to others will go back, the way it should be. Kindness bears love, Evil’s act brought hatred.
