Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Movie Review :“Beautiful things are Unexpected”

Movie Review

Charlie and the chocolate factory is a Tim Burton’s film. It’ adapted from Roald Dahl’s 1964 children’s book. The director put a more exciting charisma by showing his version of it. Though it is an adaptation, he enhanced it by more child friendly scenario. Children will learn a lot of moral lesson as well as the old one’s too. It provides hope for less fortunate people.

The film does not show too much conflict. It lessens the violence the violence than expected from the book the scenes are appetizing for the audience they will have an idea of what the film is all about because the plot is understandable. They used some graphics which helped in building the production design more realistic. This made it more appealing.

Charlie is the main character, ordinary life. He lives in a rotten house, together with his family. Though it may sounds that they are poor this kid is a big dreamer. He is a fan of the biggest chocolate factory. His curiosity has been added by the stories of his grandfather who worked there before. Now he wanted to see what’s inside Willie Wonka’s(Johnny Depp) chocolate factory, which has been closed. It’s a story of how a simple kid touched a man’s cold heart for a long period.
“Sometimes forever means for a long time”, from Charlie’s mother’s words. And the chance opens the door of the factory, as the owner announced that he will let 5 people to enter his factory if ever they will get the golden ticket. This was packed together with the chocolates delivered around the world.

The director was able to produce the building characters, by having a winter setting which is known the coldest season. It shows how people eager to get warmth this symbolized the things they want, that there’s something wrong with them and they are empty inside even they already have what they want. Sometimes, too much greediness might bring us to shame. You will only learn a lot of things after getting hurt.

The film made me think that, we cannot have everything in this world. We might have luxury, fame and material things but we do not have happiness. They were able to show a cliché of life. In general, it is a reflection of people who does not have contentment in life. At the end of the day we are the one who can answer what really happiness is. Charlie and the chocolate factory portrayed how impossible things can be possible.
